On Saturday, January 10th, Bronx Children's Museum launched a high-energy program blending literacy with hands-on culinary science called Cooking By The Book.

The event, featuring Alliah Agostini author of "The Juneteenth Cookbook," brought families together to create a tasty salad dressing that developed children's skills for measuring, mixing and observation.

Participants explored the roots of Black cuisine recreating a special recipe from "The Juneteenth Cookbook." The activity offered a joyful, interactive environment that was an instant hit for guests that

blended the magic of storytelling with the science of food. Creating the tasty salad dressing developed children's skills for measuring, mixing and observation.

Families gathered for two interactive sessions to explore the delicious "movement" of cooking, stirring up community connections while discovering how storytelling and science come together in the kitchen.
