Know Before You Go

Food and Beverage
No food or beverages are available at the Museum for purchase. In order to protect our exhibits, we ask that visitors refrain from eating in the exhibit areas. Need a quick snack? Feel free to eat or drink on our Welcome Bench in the reception area, but please clean up after yourself. Closed water bottles are welcome in the Museum. Water fountains and refilling stations are located near the bathrooms and near The Nest. Local restaurants at Bronx Terminal Market include Applebees and Marisco Centro.
Strollers and Stroller Parking
Stroller parking is available in the hallway just inside of the lower lobby. For safety precautions, we ask visitors to restrain from taking strollers into the exhibits areas. However, we understand that may not always be possible. If you need to bring a stroller in the exhibit areas, please see the front desk for a Stroller Pass.
Footwear
Shoes are required at all times. However, shoes are not permitted in The Nest, our early learner exhibit area. Please bring socks for you and your child if you plan on entering The Nest. Cubbies are available to store shoes while in The Nest.
Diapering
Diapering stations are available in both the men’s and women’s restrooms as well as a gender-neutral family restroom. Please do not change your child’s diaper in the exhibit areas.
Water Play
Smocks are available in the waterways area and are encouraged for play. The smocks are not waterproof. As with any water exhibit, your child's clothing may get wet. As a precaution, you may want to consider bringing a change of clothes to have on hand.
