Why Little Friends of the Museum Matters
The Need: Not every child has easy access to our museum building. To ensure equitable access, we must bring high-quality arts education directly into local neighborhoods.
Our Solution: We extend our mission beyond our walls by partnering with trusted community organizations to bring our museum educators and fine arts curriculum directly to children in their own afterschool settings.
How It Works
Community Partnership
We collaborate with vital organizations like SCAN and Roberto Clemente State Park to embed our program where it is needed most.
On-Site Instruction
Our trained museum educators deliver a hands-on fine arts curriculum at the partner site, removing transportation and cost barriers for families.
Student Art Exhibition
We celebrate the children's hard work and creativity with a special art exhibition at the partner location, building pride and a sense of accomplishment.
