The 10-year celebration of the Minorities in Publishing podcast continues the podcast's mission as a resource for thought-provoking discussions around creativity, the publishing industry, and inclusion. Sponsored by the Diverse Books for All Coalition, the event will feature a panel discussion followed by a fireside chat and reception that encourages engagement around literacy rates, book deserts, and the ways we can expand book access.

 SCHEDULE 

  • 6:00pm: Doors open
  • 6:30-7:25pm: Celebrating and Elevating Literacy in the Bronx discussion with author Denise Rosario Adusei (Bronx Children's Museum), literary activist Ron Kavanaugh (Literary Freedom Project), and filmmaker Gregory Hernandez (1.5 Million). Moderator: Jennifer Baker (Minorities in Publishing).
  • 7:35-8pm: Editor Fireside Chat with Foyinsi Adegbonmire (Feiwel & Friends/Macmillan Children's).
  • 7:30-8:30pm: Reception. Bites and drinks (alcoholic & non) will be available in the Museum lobby.
